Creative video of a collaboration - in support of the Get Up Stand Up Now! exhibition

Challenge

Google Arts and Culture wanted to support their partner organisation, Somerset House, in positioning their Get Up Stand Up Now! exhibition as a major cultural moment.

Strategy

Facilitate a creative collaboration between artists responding to the exhibition and a conversation about its themes, drawing on their audiences to drive engagement.

Idea

Singer/songwriter Samm Henshaw wrote and recorded a musical track in response to the exhibition and invited up-and-coming visual artist WumZum to live paint an artwork inspired by it. We filmed their creative process and combined the results with footage of a fascinating and wide-ranging discussion between the two about the themes of the exhibition.

This is beautiful and you nailed it being uplifting and happy. It's making me smile and I have no cultural connection to it. Music is universal. ❤??
